Author Biography

Andrés Montoya, Universidad de los Andes

Communicator and Master in Visual Arts. Student of the Master Degree in Cultural Studies of the Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá). Currently he researches the creation of places of memory in the midst of the Colombian armed conflict, where focuses on the House of the Memory of  Tumaco and the Park Monument of Trujillo. As an artist, he has explored the spiritual practices of different Colombian communities and its relation with the insects. His work reflects on the relation between the corporeality and significance focusing on the ascetism, the Catholic heritage, the symbolic qualities of the matter and the course of time. Founding member of the Corporación Museo Q: museum of non-normative sexualities and responsible for the curatorship and research of the contemporary arts galley Liberia in Bogotá.
